SO..What's For Pranzo?

I had some frankfurters and plain water. OK, fine. there's some rice involvement. LOL..(yes, i am trying to lose weight but NO I am not on any diet. i can't say I am eating right (yet) but we're getting there. **giggling

In an excerpt from Women, Food, and God, Geneen Roth shares seven guidelines to eating more consciously.


Eat when you are hungry.

Eat sitting down in a calm environment. This does not include the car.

Eat without distractions. Distractions include radio, television, newspapers, books, intense or anxiety-producing conversations or music.

Eat what your body wants.

Eat until you are satisfied.

Eat (with the intention of being) in full view of others.

Eat with enjoyment, gusto and pleasure.

Geneen warns against turning these into a diet. "I call them eating guidelines, but I also call them the 'if love speaks' instructions. Because people make them into rules right away, then they have to rebel against them and break them," she says. "So don't make them into a diet."
